Back in March I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to review a few products from Ecostoreusa. When I did, I absolutely fell in love with their Citrus Spray Cleaner and their Pure Oxygen Whitener. You can read why HERE.
Once again I’ve been given the opportunity to review their products and just as last time I found a few that I’m very fond of and will definitely continue to use on a regular basis.
Goat’s Milk Baby Soap With Chamomile & Lavender
Let’s just put it this way.. Goat’s Milk Soap rocks. I was so impressed with this soap that I’ve been using it every night when my son takes his bath.
When I first opened the box I was a little turned off by the smell. I don’t know why exactly, but it seemed a bit strong to me and I was really worried I wasn’t going to like it. Once I actually wet the soap and lathered it up it was a different story. This soap is so smooth and creamy feeling, it’s almost like you’re applying a light layer of lotion. My son and I both have sensitive skin and I was glad to see that neither one of us had a reaction to the soap. In fact, my son’s skin was a lot smoother than it usually is.
My son was “diagnosed” with contact dermatitis a few months ago, after having this small rash on his torso that had been there for months and wasn’t going away. I just recently read that this sort of thing can be caused by harsh soaps, detergents and cleaning products. I certainly feel better using the goat’s milk soap on him knowing that it is all natural.
Baby Shampoo With Chamomile & Lavender
Although the goat’s milk soap also had chamomile and lavender in it, it’s much more noticeable in the baby shampoo. It’s a unique scent that I’ve only experienced with the Ecostore products. It’s not over-powering though, which is good. I don’t know about you but I like to smell clean when I get out of the shower and so of course the same goes for how I feel about my son after he’s had his bath. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like the smell of freshly shampooed hair. Do you? That’s only one part of the equation though, as some shampoos smell great but leave your hair dull and lifeless or worse yet, dry out your scalp. Not so with this baby shampoo. I was very glad to see my son’s hair curl up even more than usual and thankfully it did not dry out his scalp.
You may be a little apprehensive due to the price but let me tell you, one bottle of this size could feasibly last you an entire year. After weighing all options and taking into consideration all the chemicals that are in regular baby shampoo this stuff is a pretty good bargain.
Manuka Honey & Kelp Soap
When I chose this to review it was because it had been soooo long since I only used an actual BAR of soap. I’m like most women and I have a poof and my body wash and that’s what I stick to. Sometimes though I start getting sick of one particular scent and go off in search of a different brand and smell, only to find that in the end I don’t like it. Inevitably it ends up occupying space under my bathroom cupboard to be used only in emergencies and to constantly remind me of how I wasted money.
I found the manuka honey and kelp soap strong when it first came out of the box as well. I was a little nervous at first but once I took it in the shower I was pleasantly surprised. After a few minutes small granules started to appear that are excellent for helping to slough off dead skin cells, without using a poof. You might think this is strange but I am one of those people that walk around with no shoes 75% of the time. Unfortunately I only have a stand-up shower and no bathtub, therefore my feet are never able to really soak. This soap actually cleaned my feet 10 times easier and better than my regular body wash.
You know what’s best about this soap though? It’s just a bar of soap! Do you know anyone who washes their hands with body wash? I didn’t think so. If you get sick of the smell of this you can just move it to your bathroom sink and use it there instead of the shower. And then you can head on over to Ecostoreusa and try out one of their other scents. I’m personally looking forward to trying the lemongrass.
All Natural Leave-In Conditioner For Pets
You haven’t met my dog Bailey yet and I’d love to show you a picture of him right now but due to my son’s new-found interest in the computer and my desk, my flashdrive with all my pictures of him on it has suddenly gone missing. Let me try to paint you a picture instead. My dog Bailey is 80lbs. He’s part border collie and husky. He’s beautiful. He has one blue eye and one brown and he has a black mask on his face. The one thing you will always remember about him when you meet him is that …HE SHEDS. so much so that I have to vacuum twice a day whenever he’s in the house and not on the porch. He has more hair than any dog I’ve ever dealt with. He has the kind of hair that takes 15 minutes to soak with water and a whole day to dry. You could brush him every single day of the year and still get this biggest pile of hair you ever seen off his body.
Now, being a little sleep-deprived sometimes, I do some dumb things. One of them was giving the dog a bath outside with the hose and then leaving him out there to dry. Well… guess what happened? Matts and Knots! that’s what. I was trying to make him look and feel better and keep my house from smelling like wet dog in the process. Unfortunately it backfired and only made more work for me in the end.
Ecostores Leave-In Pet Conditioner worked wonder with the matts and helped undo the problem I managed to create. The only down-side to it is that it’s a small bottle for my big dog. However, most people don’t have a whole dog covered in matts and knots. If you ever do though, you know what to use.
