Countdown to Christmas – Day 5 – Building a Gingerbread House

Why didn’t anyone tell me that building a gingerbread house was hard work! I don’t know why but I had no clue that I would have to wait until some of it dried before being able to put it completely together. Try telling a 2 yr old “We’ll come back and do more in a little while” HA HA. Right.

Now please realize I was only using a kit and I didn’t have the real bag with tips on it or anything.  I figured we’d be relaxed about it.. a 2 yr old was helping after all!  Vincent put almost all the candy on himself besides a few pieces on the front. Of course it took him a while to catch on that gumballs can’t be placed just anywhere. I tried to warn him but you now how it is lol. I think after the first one rolled down the side and I let him eat it he figured he’d keep doing the same thing so that he could put another piece in his mouth. Mom caught on to that one real quick though!

Anyway, Vincent and I had fun and Aidan did too. He got to sit in the high chair for the first time and watch us. Here is dressed in his crazy Scandinavian outfit talking to his froggy.

It takes serious concentration to not steal all the gumballs

Really happy Grandma thought to buy this for us

Pretty good for a 2 year old

  1. Your gingerbread house looks great! We used a kit, and it was such a hot mess!

  2. Haha Thank you. Ours was pretty wild looking. They need to include tips w/ the icing bag to make it a bit easier.
