Easter Fun At Our House

The kids and I had a great Easter weekend. Thursday or so while Vincent was napping I gathered up some materials to make a paper plate bunny. I had no idea what I was doing but I came up with something I think was cute.  He had been asking me all week long “Easter bunny come on Sunday?” “What day Easter bunny day?”. He especially loved putting the fluffy bunny tail (cotton ball) on the bunny’s butt Smile

Having fun making Easter bunny crafts

On Saturday I went last minute shopping (What was I thinking?). Later that night we colored and decorated eggs.

Coloring eggs with Aidan and Vincent

After the kids went to bed I stayed up late to visit with the Easter Bunny and check out what he left for us. Man was he ever late. I could barely keep my eyes open. Mommy, Pappa, and Aidan had one big basket since Aidan was too small to have his own or to eat candy. Vincent got a lot of non-candy spring-time stuff and things for us to do together in the coming weeks. Ie: Sidewalk chalk, sun catchers to paint and hang in the windows, paint brushes so we can finally break out all the new paint he got at Christmas. Plenty of stuff to keep us busy!

Easter baskets

Later in the morning when everyone was fed and clothed Vincent and I went outside to discover that the Easter bunny had left 15 eggs for him. He found every single one all on his own! Even the one hidden in the rain gutter (or whatever you call it) and the one in the hole in our yard that was covered up with leaves. Every egg he found he said “Let’s see what’s in this one” and I had to open them up.  All day long he continued to ask if we could go back outside and look for more eggs. Next year Easter bunny will have to leave more eggs, less candy.

Hunting for Easter Eggs

Later on everyone chilled out while I hung out in the kitchen and cooked a prime rib. Not exactly traditional but my husband doesn’t eat ham.. which I have decided next year will be too bad because I really missed it and it’s usually the only time of year I have it.

Later on after the kids went to bed I was STILL in the kitchen cleaning up the mess. You don’t really want a picture of that now do you? I don’t know how the rule got messed up but I thought it was the person who doesn’t make the dinner is the one who cleans up the dishes. So yeah, we’re going to be working on that one Smile cause it was a really long day! A really fun one though.

What did you do for Easter?

  1. I actually had a family BBQ for Easter and we had a great time. I love the photos and I can’t believe how big your boys got. My boys are growing up too fast too. Great job on the Easter Bunny plate, it came out great!

  2. BBQ sounds like fun. It was great weather for one too. Thank you… they are getting big. Can’t believe how fast time goes by. 😉
