I first learned about Ice.com last winter. I was never big into jewelry or accessories until after I had kids. Maybe it has something to do with hormones, who knows? I was actually following them on twitter. I had never considered buying jewelry online before but I became intrigued by their posts and decided I had to check out the site.

 

After several days of looking over the store I finally took the plunge and bought myself a beautiful green chalcedony pendant. I loved it so much I even wrote about it on my blog! I am not one to brag, in fact I am extremely frugal and quite the penny pincher, but I had to write about this pendant I bought because the deal I got was pretty amazing. When all was said and done I paid only $19 for it! You can read more about my experience at the link above. Unfortunately the pendant is no longer available. It’s beautiful though isn’t it?

 

Overall I had a great experience with Ice.com and was very impressed with them so I’ve continued to keep them on my radar in case any special sales pop up (for which they have many!). I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Their customer service and follow-up is top-notch.

What I’m really here to write about right now though is the new and exciting Ice.com. They have just launched their brand new site today, August 18.  I highly encourage you to check it out. Holidays are just around the corner.

Moms Love Design Your Own Charm Bracelets (hint hint Dads)

 

My absolute favorite thing on the Ice.com site, are the design your own custom charm bracelets. I actually have one from a local jewelry store that I received for Mother’s Day, but now that Ice.com has them I think I’m going to have to start working on a second one.

 

What’s great about them is that you can buy 1 bead at a time. You start out by picking a chain, followed by beads or charms. There are TONS to choose from. There are round, square, and even dangling designs, hence the name “charm” bracelet. When you’re done you simply choose 2 stoppers for each end of the bracelet. The stoppers keep the charms/beads on.

 

Here’s one I designed in a matter of 10 minutes that I absolutely love.

 

 

The great thing about the design your own charm bracelets? You can literally buy 1 bead or charm at a time. They cost around $30 a piece so you can save up for each charm. You can do things like buy a specific charm to celebrate a special occasion. 1 to represent each of your children or grandchildren, or maybe even match a charm to the color birth stone of yourself and your children.  The possibilities really are endless.
