Weight Watchers Ice Cream Bars–A Better Way To Indulge

When I was pregnant with my first son I gained over 50lbs. I kept on a good 20 after birth. When I was pregnant with my second son I wised up. I only gained a bit more than 35lbs and I lost 30 of it immediately after birth… then I gained a little again and I stayed there not gaining or losing 1 single pound for an entire year.  Now here I am pregnant with my third and final baby and my starting weight? way too high. In fact I’m currently 5lbs away from my ending weight with my first son! O.M.G.

Although I hadn’t gained any weight at all in the year prior to me getting pregnant I have now gained 10lbs and I’m 21 weeks. I’m trying desperately not to go overboard because in all actuality I don’t need to gain any weight at all in order to carry this baby.  I have made some serious changes over the past year that helped me to not gain. I was breastfeeding at the time so I didn’t want to diet. I didn’t feel it was healthy but I also watched what I ate. I made better choices in foods. I’m still continuing to do that.

One of those better choices, Weight Watchers ice cream bars. Thanks to Mom Select I was able to sample their ice creams over the past month or so. I never would have bought these ice creams myself because probably like you I associate Weight Watchers with dieting.  However now that I’ve been enlightened I wanted to share my experience with you.  Their ice creams are fantastic!

Weight Watchers ice creams are the perfect treat for those watching their weight, learning to eat healthier and trying to make wise food choices.  As you know Weight Watchers is based on points and all of the ice cream bars I tried miraculously came in 3 points or less. Most were perfect snack size but you couldn’t tell they were any smaller than regular ice cream bars because they actually satisfy your cravings. Bigger is not always better. If I have bigger in front of me I will eat it! and apparently if I have smaller, I can still feel satisfied. A little trick of the mind I believe.

I tried the following and personally loved them. Even my 3 year old has been sharing them with me and he loves them. I also don’t feel as guilty giving them to him like I have with regular ice cream:

  • Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Raspberry Bars: Offering an indulgent combination of fruitful raspberry and dark chocolate, these bars are made with low fat raspberry ice cream with raspberries covered with a dark chocolate flavored coating. Each bar has a PointsPlus value of 2 per bar and just 80 calories- the perfect way to add flavor to your afternoon.
  • Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Dessert Bars: Featuring low fat cheesecake ice cream with a raspberry swirl dipped in dark chocolate. Each bar has a PointsPlus value of 3 per bar and 110 calories.
  • Weight Watchers Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Dessert Bars: Featuring low fat strawberry ice cream with a strawberry swirl dipped in a milk chocolate. Each bar has a PointsPlus value of 3 per bar and only 100 calories!

My favorite by far? The chocolate fudge bar!! 45 calories can you believe that? I didn’t eat 10 in a row, I didn’t crave more.. it was perfect size for a chocolate craving and we all know pregnant ladies get cravings! You can eat them any time of day and not have to feel guilty.. and if you really are left craving more they actually have bigger sizes that in my opinion are still a better choice for you than a lot of other things you could grab to eat!
