Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail. Who doesn’t remember singing that when they were a kid? If you grew up in the 70’s and 80’s you might also remember anxiously awaiting the stop-motion tv special during Easter time.
Here Comes Peter Cottontail aired for the first time in a 1971 Easter television special and since then kids and adults alike have awaited it’s return. In 2009 the it was re-mastered in high definition, making it much clearer and colorful than previous versions available.
This cute little story of a young Easter bunny named Peter Cottontail is narrated by none other than Danny Kaye and has voice work by people such as Casey Kasem and Vincent Price (my favorite actor of all time) and runs for a total of 50 minutes. If you’re a fan of the other stop-motion classics such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer & Frosty the Snowman then you’ll surely love Here Comes Peter Cottontail.
What’s even more fun than watching it yourself as a child is sharing it with your own kids and creating new memories. If you hurry now you can get the original Here Comes Peter Cottontail re-mastered on DVD just in time for Easter. Oh, I think my 6 year old daughter would love this!!!! Easter is an important holiday for us as both our birthdays are right around that time. 🙂 I’d probably use it in her Easter basket since my unemployment ended and I’m not sure how I’m going to come up with basket stuff.
