My Quest For Good Health–Day 1 of 28 #Walkabout

So yesterday I told you about how I was chosen to be an ambassador for Orthaheel & Dr. Weil integrative footwear over here on this POST.   I attended a virtual tea where they discussed a lot about why most people don’t’ get out and walk more. They gave a ton of tips and just a lot of great information which I’m going to share with you at another time. (I’m too sleepy tonight)

Although I did not receive my new shoes yet (which I’m going to wear during this quest for health) I was so motivated by yesterdays discussion that I wanted to get out and start moving right away. I decided to go ahead and start integrating 1/2 hour of walking into my schedule immediately. I figured I’d be able to tell more if their shoes actually help me when I start wearing them.

I have been such a big procrastinator lately. I have to admit that sometimes when I don’t’ leave the house for days I almost get scared to leave the house again. I have always been like this and it used to be much worse. I did get up and get ready though, showered, did NOT get distracted with too many “chores”, got everyone ready and by 12:30 we were out the door.  We walked 7 1/2 blocks. A bit slowly as you know I’m 29 weeks pregnant and by the time we got back home my belly near the bottom was quite heavy.

I took this picture of the kids who were just happy to be out in the sunshine.  After a 5 minute break they were ready to go again as you can see. Me? Not so much LOL.  But,  I really did feel better emotionally. I felt good that I had a goal to achieve and I did it, no matter how small.  Instead of going in the house and taking a nap we all had a snack and we headed out shopping and were able to get a lot accomplished today.  In fact I overdid it and after all that shopping probably have a good 2 hours of walking under my belt tonight.. now I’m exhausted & so are the kids! My 3 yr old asked to go to bed!!  I’m liking these perks already.

I am NOT going to break this goal. Even if it rains I will walk with my Wii if I have to.  I’m really looking forward to increasing my stamina again so that when I have this baby I can get back to exercising on a more regular basis. Even though I’m bigger than I’ve ever been in my entire life I know I can do this.  If the house stays dirty, OH WELL!
