When is the last time you had a drink? I had my first drink in more than 2 years this Labor Day weekend. Yep. The last time I drank was the night my youngest son was conceived. Definitely not a day I could forget, being that it was on a New Years Eve. Even then it was just a couple of beers because my husband is a beer drinker & always has them laying around on the weekend. Since I got pregnant with Silje only 1 year after Aidan was born that left little time for things like relaxing with a drink in my hand. I’m also one of those ladies that don’t believe in drinking at all while pregnant. No matter what statistics you read or believe in. zip, zero, zilch.
It was nice after all this time to sit down with something light and refreshing. It’s been incredibly hot this summer & I’ve been surviving on slushes & frozen concoctions of all sorts. I liked all the flavors but surprisingly I fell in love with the White Pear. It tastes very natural of pear & has hints of apple & citrus, but only hints! It’s flavors are so subtle, and not overpowering. As someone who hasn’t drank in so long I didn’t want to head straight for the whiskey. I wanted something delicious and flavorful, but not something that was going to knock me out. Come on, let’s be honest, even when I’m able to drink more than 1 of these it’s still going to be a long long time before Mama can get wild. I have 3 kids now I have to take it easy for the next 18 years at least.
If you pull these out for a night with the girls they’ll no doubt be a big hit. So if you love frozen treats, and you love wine, run, go, pick up a few. Mommies need time-outs too!
