Preserving Memories & Baby Clothes #DreftLaundry

Since I started having children 4 1/2 years ago one thing has stayed consistent & that was my use of Dreft Laundry Detergent. My mom used Dreft on my clothes as a baby & on my younger brother & sister’s clothes. So for me Dreft is really one of those scents that hold a lot of memories. Every time I smell it I think of babies.

A couple of weeks ago I started packing away all of the baby clothes we own. Because I just had a little girl after having 2 little boys she’s getting mostly new clothes instead of all hand-me-downs. I didn’t expect it to be so hard for me to pack clothes away! I intend to have a garage sale next summer. After 4 1/2 years we’ve acquired A LOT of clothes.

Every time I get out the baby clothes the first thing I do is put them to my face and smell them! The scent to me is like everything good in the world. It reminds me of the first time I brought my oldest son home from the hospital. It reminds me of the first time my oldest son met his little brother, and it reminds me of the day that I dressed Silje up in her cute little dress to get her first photos.

While packing away these clothes that we’ll no longer see I realized that I had to keep a few pieces just for memories sake. I haven’t yet decided what I’ll keep for Vincent, but I think it may be something from when his Grandparents from Norway visited him for the first time. For Aidan I’ve decided I’ll keep his onesie that he wore at the hospital that says "little brother" and for Silje I will definitely keep the little dress she wore for her first pictures. Since she was born 11lbs 12oz I want her to see one day when she has her own child just how big she was at birth!

Of course knowing me by the time I’m done I’ll probably have a whole box of clothes, all connected to special memories. I know one thing is for certain though. For the rest of my life whenever I smell Dreft I’m going to be taken back to wonderful times when my children, who are growing each and every day, were still small enough to be cradled in my arms.

Whether you’re a first timer or the greatest, grandest mother of them all, there’s on thing moms have agreed on for over 75 years- Dreft makes your little one’s fabric feel as clean and soft as can be.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Dreft. As a part of this program I received the product, the opinions and text are all mine.
