Rdio just wrote me a short time ago & asked that I share with you this awesome playlist of Lullabies for your babies. Here’s what they had to say:
“Rdio’s “The Cradle Will Rock” playlist features all of your favorite tracks from bands like The Beatles, Metallica, Journey, Bjork and Nirvana re-recorded in soothing piano and xylophone sounds that will surely put you and your baby to sleep! Never thought you’d nod off to Black Sabbath? Set your speakers in the baby’s room and get your nap on.”
What is Rdio?
I had never used Rdio & had no idea what it was so I decided to check it out. I went to the site using my laptop, logged in through Facebook & immediately found a few of my friends were already using it. They asked me to select 5 people to follow so I did. I realized it was a place to enjoy & discover music with your friends. You can listen on your computer or on your phone, or even your tablet. They did not ask me to subscribe when I signed up through my laptop. However when logging on from my phone after installing the app I was given a date that my free trial would end (2 weeks from now). If you like it you can subscribe after that. You do not have to give any payment info before then.
I was then off to listen to “The Cradle Will Rock” playlist.
Oh my gosh… music is a giant part of my life so this is right up my alley. I’m in love with some of these lullabies already! So far my favorites are the lullaby renditions of Umbrella from Rihanna, Stairway to heaven from Led Zeppelin & Just like Heaven from The Cure.
You want to know something amazing too? I started Umbrella as my 5 yr old, Vincent was sitting in time out. He went from throwing a fit to completely calm. I could see him listening. I didn’t say a word. Yep, definitely loving these lullabies!
You can check a preview of ‘em out right now on this page for yourself! Have a listen & tell me which one is your favorite!!
(if you’re on your computer you should see the full playlist here. You’ll be able to only hear a preview. You can hear the full length at the website. If you’re on your phone you may have to download the app first. Sorry).
