The Smurf’s have always been a part of my life. I grew up on them. I’ve probably seen every old school episode ever made. When I was little they were my very favorite Saturday morning cartoon.  I remember having tons of different Smurf products when I was little. I recall sitting down with my Grandma and molding Smurfs out of special clay & then baking them in the oven & painting them. It’s such a special memory I can still smell the clay when I think about it. Smurf’s were so popular when I was little I even dressed as a Smurf in a tap recital! Sorry you can’t see the pics. I’m not that brave.

As you probably know Smurfs 2 was just released on July 31st and to celebrate, Haribo, the world’s largest maker of gummi, licorice and marshmallow candy has debuted a new Smurfs gummi in stores nation-wide. The strawberry and raspberry-flavored gummi candies, which are already popular in Germany and France, are shaped like favorite Smurf characters, including Papa Smurf and Smurfette. The gummies come in the classic Smurfs blue color, with various characters wearing red, white and yellow caps on their heads.

Best of all the gummies are gluten and fat-free. I looove gummi candy of all kind but I’ve been eating really well lately. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to partake in the yummy Smurf gumminess, but after reading the label I discovered 7 pieces are only 130 calories and these gummi’s are really big so you don’t feel cheated.

So, now whenever I’m feeling the need I hide a couple behind my keyboard, just like this and snack on them when the kids aren’t looking.  LOL

Of course I share them with the kiddo’s too! but you know how kids are. What’s mine is theirs, so I gotta be slick.  They were ecstatic when they got to try them for the first time. It’s not often we have snacks like this around our house but I was feeling nostalgic.  I’ve been trying to get them into the Smurfs for a while now so I can’t wait until we can all see the new movie together.

Well, now that you know all about my secret hiding spot, if you’re a big fan of The Smurfs & all things gummi then make sure to pick up a pack of these guys before you head out to see Smurfs 2 with your kiddos!

Where to Buy

You can find Smurf gummi’s in stores nationwide. The candy is packaged in 4 oz hanging bags at a suggested retail price of $1.09 – $1.69
