“Hi, I’m skyler 19 years old and this is my birth story of my first little girl!

August 14,2013 at 4:30 in the morning and at 41 weeks pregnant , I was sleeping in bed when I started having these really bad stomach pains. I was still half asleep and just figured I had to go to the bathroom. The pains kept coming, and got stronger each time they came. I finally came to fully, and realized I was in labor.

I tried to wake my grandmom up (I live with her) she is in the next bedroom over, after about five minutes or trying to wake her up I gave up, and went to go wake my twin sister up. I told her I was in labor and my contractions were about 6-7 minutes apart (I wasn’t timing them) when in reality they were 4-5 minutes apart. She told me to get my bags ready and head to the hospital. So I went to go try and wake up my grandmother again. After another five minutes of trying she finally woke up. She told me to go to the hospital. And her and my sister were going to be there when they officially were admitting me.

So the car ride seemed like it took forever even though the hospital was only 15-20 minutes away. My contractions at that point were almost unbearable. They got me back in a room to get checked and they said I was only 2 cm (which I was for 2 weeks by that point). So they sent me walking for two hours.

When I got done walking I was 3-4 cm dilated and they admitted me. That was around 9 or ten am. I begged for an epidural, even though it was only working on one side. They gave me Pitocin, which made me have contractions every three minutes.

Later that night, I couldn’t tell you what time, I had finally dilated fully and started pushing. I had pushed for an hour before I had gotten this excruciating pain in my left hip area. I was screaming for hours. The had to give me more meds. I finally couldn’t stand the pain and gave into a C-section even though that was not my plan at all.

At 5 they brought me into the o.r. , and at 5:34 am on August 15th my beautiful Abigail Lynn was born. I don’t remember much after hearing her scream and cry, and than seeing her, because they gave me lots of pain meds, but my boyfriend tells me that As soon as i saw her I teared up . “
