Organizing After The Holidays–Why This Gift Wrap Storage Bag Is A Great Idea For Those With Little Ones

If you do the whole Santa thing at your house, or even if you don’t you might want to consider this suggestion.   The best thing I ever did to get organized AFTER Christmas was to buy a Gift Wrap Storage Bag similar to this. It has saved me a ton of hassle when I find myself rushing at the last minute & it’s incredibly helpful because I have such a tiny house & don’t have a lot of room to store things.

I put all my tags, ribbons, bows, tissue paper, wrapping paper, Santa’s special pen he writes with! & various other things in my bag.  It came in REAL HANDY this year when my 5 year old suddenly decided he was going to stay awake & try to catch Santa (& I hadn’t finished wrapping). I was able to bring the whole bag out from underneath the bed as soon as he fell asleep.. and was able to zip it up while I was wrapping so when the 3 yr old awoke to use the bathroom & said “What’s that bag mommy” it was closed & he couldn’t immediately get into it. PHEW…

Kids grow really quickly & they start asking questions sooner than you think!  Last year before I bought my storage bag I accidently left Santa’s wrapping paper in my office & my oldest son spotted it and immediately asked me why Santa left his paper here! I had to come up with a little white lie on the spot. I don’t want to be caught in that predicament again let me tell you.  I know my kids will only be small for so long & I want to keep the magic alive for a few more years.  For me the magic of Santa was a really special part of my childhood & I’m hoping by the time my kids are older they’ll feel the same.  Even if you don’t do Santa it’s still helpful to keep your things organized! Trust me, as a mom of 3 little kids I know this for fact.

Scoop Up Next Years Wrapping Products While They’re Discounted

This year I was able to find some gift tags on 75% discount at CVS. So I bought a bunch for 50 cents per 100 and threw them in my bag for next year! Those will be Santa’s tags because next year my son will pay even closer attention, as he’s now learning how to read! I don’t want him asking why Santa uses the same tags or has the same handwriting as Mommy LOL. (Something that I did with my own mom)

In the next day or two after I scour a few more After Christmas sales I’ll store the bag away from the kids prying eyes & when next holiday season rolls around I’ll be ready to go!  Do yourself the same favor & prepare yourself in advance.  A less stressed or anxious mommy always makes the holidays more enjoyable, or any day for that matter, don’t you think?

This particular Gift Wrap Storage Bag retails for $14.99 on Amazon.com & it has free 2 day shipping if you’re a *Prime member or free standard shipping if you have over $35 in qualifying purchases. I wouldn’t pay much more than that considering it’s something you’ll only pull out once a year! If you can find one even cheaper than this make sure to snatch it up!

Happy Organizing!
