Wordless Wednesday: The Detroit Zoo in October–Scccccaarrrry

We didn’t make it to the zoo all summer so since we only live about 5 miles away I decided to take the kids myself on a week day. They had the reptile cages done up for Halloween. One thing I did not appreciate? A HUGE fake snake hanging over the cage of a REAL snake, right above my head…. I almost had a heart attack. Also, zombies?? in the snake cages? Talk about stuff of nightmares. What’s scarier to you? Zombies? Snakes? or stumbling upon a big ol’ Grizzly Bear?

These pictures were taken Tuesday, September 27th at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. The flowers are from a lovely little flower garden they had there. I couldn’t resist! I hope you love them as much as I do.

Wordless Wednesday – Block Party

So, I put my semi social anxiety aside this past weekend and decided to take the kids to a neighboring cities block party. I’d never been to one but it was ok. My husband got to drink a few beers in the street, legally, for like a buck a piece! I got to stand around and compare myself to all the other Mom’s, the baby got to take in some music (he’s really starting to enjoy it) and the 3 yr old got to hang out in the bounce house where all the germs were.. oh and we got to enjoy a seriously delicious apple cider slushie! Fun was had by all but next time I’ll get my flu shot before we go! *cough*

This is what happens when Mom tries to make that 12 month hand-me-down outfit from your big brother last through one more wear! lol. (I honestly didn’t know how short it was until he sat down). Can you believe how big he’s getting???

Oh man, these last few days have been crazy. My mild mannered, relaxed, calm little baby boy is no more! He’s been arching his back, bit my boob several times while nursing, then cries to nurse again (I’m shell shocked of course. Thank God it hasn’t been too hard – still scary), and he’s been complaining a lot.. in baby babble. Hoping his 4 top teeth come out all the way real soon! He got those suckers in months ago.

In the meantime every time he throws a fit, this is what I think of:

Wordless Wednesday: The Real Meaning Of Smooshed

We live in a subdivision. People speed. It makes me nervous. I’ve been telling Vincent since he could walk that if he goes in the road he’ll be smooshed like a bug. A couple weeks ago he got the chance to sort of put two and two together when a squirrel on our road was run over. This crazy turkey vulture swooped in and started eating it. I’ve never seen a turkey vulture in Michigan and I most certainly haven’t seen one hanging out by my house. Guess the 90F heat and the stench drew him in. It was sort of sad to see my 3 yr old struggle to understand what was happening.

Wordless Wednesday or Whatever: What A Day

I have a bunch of giveaways coming up just have to get them posted. Please be patient. I had 2 root canals today. I had been in horrendous pain and on vicodin & ibuprofen just to tolerate the pain this past week.

They quoted me $900 after insurance was maxed out.. so as the lady is on the phone w/ my husband asking if they can charge his care credit (credit card for dental expenses) I hear her tell him it will be $1495!! Long story short after all is said and done 2 root canals that I couldn’t avoid getting, and 2 crowns are going to cost roughly $3000! WTF!? really?

I’m mad in all sorts of ways since I feel this isn’t my fault and I take very good care of my teeth.. but that’s a story for another day.

Even though my day sort of sucked I came home to my boys, who made me laugh and feel better.

If you’re on Facebook you might have already seen this video. I caught it tonight. It’s of my 8 month old Aidan. Watch it. It’s funny and a little weird lol. It definitely caught me off guard.

Wordless Wednesday: Somebody Learned Something New

Aidan is still not crawling. He IS hopping, walking around on his hands and feet lol, sitting up on his knees, pulling himself around, and now pulling himself up.

and he’s really starting to love playing with all his toys and his big brother. Here is big brother showing him EVERY toy in the toy box. (Big brother has outgrown most of his toys and cartoons and has turned into a power ranger btw). Things are changing so quickly!

I know if you’re a fan on FB you’ve seen this first pic already. I mean come on, snow in April? Thankfully it all dried up and although it’s still cold, the Robins have been making their nests so I know Spring is really right around the corner. I hope.

Until we can head outside on a regular basis I’m semi-content to watch them from my window.
