Go Green This Earth Day With New Seventh Generation Card Board Laundry Detergent Bottles–You Have To See it to Believe it

In 2007, working mom Julie Corbett came up with an amazing idea. A bottle that combines a sturdy outer molded fiber shell made from cardboard boxes and old newspapers with a thin inner plastic pouch and re-sealable cap. Soon after she patented her technology and in May 2008, Ecologic Brands was born.

Today, Julie and the Ecologic team are committed to giving consumers and brands better choices and replacing shelf after shelf of rigid plastic headed for landfill with a new kind of bottle.

Just recently Seventh Generation adopted this bottle for their Natural 4x Laundry Detergent. Take a look at this bottle. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I was absolutely amazed and especially delighted that a mom came up with the concept. Time after time I have seen plastic bottles in the garbage. We know not everyone takes the time to recycle so just the fact that these bottles use an incredible amount of less plastic than regular bottles is great.

Seventh Generation 4x Natural Detergent

HDPE plastic bottles that commonly hold household cleaners take hundreds of years to decompose. However, Ecologic bottles can be recycled or composted, and the plastic pouch can be recycled with your plastic bags at your local grocery store.

I hope one day to see every detergent company using these types of bottles in replacement of regular ones.

In the meantime if you’d like to go green with Seventh Generations new 4x Laundry Detergent, it’s been hitting shelves these past few weeks. To view a list of stores carrying it check out http://www.ecologicbrands.com/buy.html

  1. I recently saw some pieces on shows like CNN and the journal with Joan Lunden that were talking about issues and solutions for industrial recycling. These guys really are leading in making choices in this area. Read about a new store in Texas eliminating packaging all together, hopefully this is our next step. I for one reward them with my business.
