Natural Vines Licorice Review & Giveaway (Now Closed)

The American Licorice Company, makers of the famous Red Vines licorice and one of the oldest candy makers in the country have come out with an all natural ‘gourmet’ licorice called, Natural Vines. As the name implies Natural Vines are made from natural ingredients. They are perfect for consumers who are health-conscious and looking for products that don’t contain artificial ingredients.  Here are some facts:

Review

I tried one piece of the black licorice and it was good. Although I’m not a fan of black licorice I have tried all kinds of it as we regularly had it in our house growing up, and my husband is from Scandinavia where salty black licorice is very popular. I gave it to him and asked what he thought. Apparently it was odd for him to eat sweet licorice instead of salty. He ate the whole bag in 2 sittings. As odd as it may have been for him it was obviously delicious!

As for the red I can personally vouch for how awesome it is. It’s actually much softer than regular licorice in my opinion and it’s a lot sweeter. I’m assuming that’s because of the sugar cane. I only have a small sweet tooth so I’ve been able to save my bag for over a week now and eat just a few pieces a day. I’m definitely going to keep a bag of these stashed away for myself, hidden far away from the prying eyes and hands of my 3 year old and my husband who would surely eat them all in a day! (But at least if my 3 year old spies me eating them and I graciously decide to share I don’t have to feel guilty about a ton of added ingredients.)
