Pipila- A Portable UV Pacifier Sterilizer–Review & Giveaway (Now Closed)

I was recently introduced to a cute little device called the Pipila. It’s a portable UV pacifier sterilizer, and did it ever come to us at the right time. If you follow me on Facebook you know that my boys and I just got over the worst case of stomach flu ever, just last month. I had to sterilize everything! and my husband STILL got it himself after staying away for several days trying to avoid it. The Pipila arrived a few days after we were all feeling better and I’ve been using it ever since.

How It Works:

Pipila contains a small UV/03 lamp that kills germs using a dual-action process. The oxygen in the air reacts with a range of wavelengths and ozone to safely eliminate 99.9% of germs and bacteria. The process also creates oxygen, leaving the pacifier without any residue or odors. UV light is often used in hospitals to sterilize operating rooms and remove germs from the air. It breaks down viruses and exposes the reproductive component (DNA or RNA), destroying bacteria instantly.

We absolutely love the Pipila. My 17 month old son adores his binky’s but sometimes they go missing for days, to where, I’m not sure. The Pipila is easy enough to use that my 3 year old can do it. However, the Pipila is not a toy and because of the UV/03 lamp you are not supposed to look directly into it, so that is something you need to remember.

We’ve been using the Pipila for over a month now with absolutely no issues. Although I can’t tell you with a certainty that the pacifiers are completely sterile because I have no equipment to inspect it with Pipila has been laboratory tested and approved for consumer use in the US according to their website. I can notice a difference in the pacifier when I remove it from the Pipila and although it’s not a distinct “smell” (it’s supposed to be odorless) It definitely does remove any scents that were on it before you inserted it.  Of course we wash the pacifier first because there are crevices that can’t be cleaned unless washed first.

The Pipila Sterilizer would make the perfect baby shower gift!
