“Every child deserves a learning environment that’s safe, healthy, free of harmful toxins and optimal for learning. Unfortunately, many schools across the country are subjecting children to unhealthy classrooms with poor lighting and inefficient energy usage, which costs most schools more money than they spend on books and computers. Global Green USA is working to change this by helping to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn in a healthier, greener school.
Pureology is pleased to present Global Green USA’s Green School Makeover Competition. You can help a school in your area by nominating it for a Green School Makeover.”
In order to enter you will need to:
Think about the the types of green upgrades your school needs and why.
Attach 3-5 photos that show your school facility, key people involved in the project and if possible, demonstrate the green project being proposed or school facility being improved. (Photos must be jpegs less than 500 kb)
Obtain contact information and permission to enter from your school principal or school facilities administrator (Their signature is required)
Attach optional link to video (Video must be no larger than 100 MB)
Submit your application anytime between March 1 and September 30, 2011.
Allow 6 weeks from the start of the application process to completion.
Prizes:
1 Grand Prize: The Grand Prize Winner’s school will receive a green makeover of their school from GGUSA including supplies and labor costs. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) $65,000.
4 Runners-up: 4 Schools will each receive $2,500 towards their green school renovations.
