Tooth Tissues – Keeping Your Babies Gums and Teeth Clean (Review)

Tooth Tissues

The American Dental Association recommends that after each feeding you wipe your babies gums with a wet cloth in order to prevent tooth decay but I wonder how many people do that? With all the stories I’ve heard of bottle rot and early childhood tooth decay it’s easy to guess that not everyone is following that recommendation.

I recently came across Tooth Tissues for the first time and had the opportunity to review them. If you’re anything like me and had no clue such things existed then you’re probably wondering why you didn’t come up with the idea first.

What Are Tooth Tissues?

Tooth Tissues are just what you think, a tissue that is uniquely textured for plaque removal. It is neutral flavored according to the site, fluoride-free, paraben-free and sugar-free, and 99% natural. Appropriately enough, Tooth Tissues were designed by two parents who just happen to be dentists as well. They actually designed this product for their own children. The Review:

I had issues of putting my oldest son to bed with his bottle when he was a baby. Due to pure exhaustion I think I just gave in. Of course I never let milk pool in his mouth and I was lucky that he finished the bottle before he’d fall asleep. That still doesn’t excuse the fact though that I didn’t always wipe his mouth clean. (just out of fear of waking him up). So when I seen Tooth Tissues I was excited that someone had developed something that would definitely be of good use to parents of babies and young children. I think if I would have had these sitting in my sons room I would have been more apt to use them each night.

Although Tooth Tissues are recommended for children under 16 months due to the fact that children usually start getting molars by then they can be used by anyone. It is however recommended that your children use a tooth brush regularly once their molars start coming in. I personally used a gum massager with baby toothpaste until my my son started with a toothbrush at about a year old.

Pros:

  • They fit just about anywhere. On your dresser for easy access. In your diaper bag or even in the glove compartment of your car.
  • They’re resealable so they don’t dry out.
  • They were created by Dentists with children so you know they have your best interest in mind.
  • They’re perfect for the in-between times.
  • Fluoride Free, Paraben Free.

Cons:

  • They’re somewhat pricey
  • They have a slightly strange smell and taste which reminded me of peroxide. I had my 2 year old use them though and he didn’t mind at all. He even informed me they didn’t smell bad.

Where To Purchase

The Tooth Tissues website has a list of all the places you can find them, online and in-store. http://www.toothtissues.com/wheretobuy/

I would personally shop Amazon, as they are eligible for free Super Saver Shipping and are competitively priced.
