Countdown to Christmas – Day 4 – Wrapping, Wrapping and More Wrapping

Sooo.. even though Vincent is only 2 1/2 years old I have found that he is very observant. Just this morning he spotted the box of chocolate covered cherries I hid on top of my desk last night. “What’s that mommy, up here, who eat that? you eat that? why?”. Then he noticed the juice I drank. “Who drink that mommy? You drink that? Why?”.  The “whys” are driving me crazy!

Last night it was totally my intention to start the cookie making process but after laying down when the boys went to bed I fell fast asleep. Of course I woke up after 2 hours. I guess that’s some sort of weird side effect of not sleeping properly for the past 3 1/2 years. It would be great if I woke up with a bounce in my step but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.

I dragged myself into the living room because I knew Aidan would be waking up at some point to eat again. I figured I might as well get something done while waiting.

I started trying to tackle the mess in my office below. Most of it is wrapped but hidden in bags.

Organized chaos

I know, looks horrible doesn’t it. There is a reason behind the chaos. You see, if I had everything organized and there was room for Vincent’s little feet to fit close to those bags, he would have already been in there. Yeah.. right.. Truth is we have NOWHERE to hide presents. I told you we live in a 500sq ft house, right? And yes I’m very aware this is the last year we can hide presents this way 🙂

So after getting the above straightened up a little bit I decided I HAD to put my husbands gifts and the ones from our in-laws under the tree in order to make room. I had avoided this before in order to stave off the “whys”.

This morning you can see the reaction I got.. and yes, I spent about 2 hours explaining why they were there. LOL.

Why these here mommy? These for me? These mine? Why mommy, why mommy, why mommy?
