Happy Holidays

Well, I broke my promise to blog every day until Christmas. I found myself overwhelmed at the last minute. I had bought a webcam earlier in the week and set it up so that my husband could see his parents all the way in Norway. I think they were all happy about that. At least I hope so! I know they were thrilled to see the kids. Thing is they called about an hour early lol and I was rushing all around like a madman

After that  I was up until 4am on Christmas Eve wrapping presents while my husband bailed on me and fell asleep. So, no blogging on Christmas Eve. It should be like that anyway, right? Kids come first always.

Christmas Day turned out great. My husband went out of his way this year to make sure he got me very thoughtful gifts like a certificate for a manicure/pedicure. I’ve never had either if you can believe that.  I was a bit sneaky and I got my husband a Kodak Easyshare so that he can take more pics of the family and when he’s out on the road. I’m always the one taking all the pics so therefore I’m never in any! Plus this way he can show us some of the things he see’s when he’s gone all the time.  Vincent was excited that Santa stopped by and ate his cookies and the reindeer ate the carrot we left out. Aidan was even happy watching all the excitement.

Later in the day my mom came over and I cooked a standing rib roast and it turned out wonderful. I didn’t mess it up! I was so worried I would. From now on I think that’s going to be our tradition. It was absolutely delicious.

There was only one thing I would have changed and that was to have my little brother be there with us. This was his first Christmas away from home since he’s now a Marine. He did call  and we talked for quite a while but there was still a piece of us missing. I’m hopeful next year he’ll be here.. and maybe even my sister too. Like old times.

I hope your Holiday was just as wonderful as ours. Merry Christmas to each and every one of my followers.
