Monkey Balm

Do your kids have dry or sensitive skin? Maybe even eczema? Well I want to introduce you to Monkey Balm. It’s a 100% all natural balm formulated especially for children. It contains a special ingredient by the name of Sea Buckthorn. If you’re like me you’ve probably never heard of it.

sea buckthorn

Sea Buckthorn is a tiny orange berry that grows across parts of Europe and Asia. You can even find a certain variety of it growing wild in the Himalayas.  It’s known the world over for it’s healing properties, especially in Asia, where it’s been used in folk-medicine for centuries. It has been known to relieve cough, aid digestion, invigorate blood circulation and alleviate pain. The oil of this berry can be used to soften skin, reduce inflammation, and to treat burns. Therefore making it a natural solution to problems such as eczema.

A Few Interesting Facts About Sea Buckthorn

* 10 times more vitamin C than oranges

* 8 times more vitamin E than almonds

* Most abundant source of Omega 7 in the world

My oldest son like me has always had sensitive skin but on top of it he is fair skinned. He’s prone to rashes, hives and he has a slight case of a sort of dermatitis (not sure of the exact name right now) on his arms that our dermatologist told me would probably always be there. He gave us an incredibly expensive lotion and told us that it could only be used on his arms, that’s unfortunate for my son because he also tends to get bumps on his face sometimes.  Either way, we tried the lotion and as expected, nothing happened.

When I received Monkey Balm I had the intention of using it on my oldest son but it completely slipped my mind because as it happens the baby ended up getting a small rug burn on his arm where my oldest had pulled him across the carpet a couple inches while trying to help him roll over. I know you’re thinking what the heck.. it was all innocent really, as my oldest doesn’t quite understand that the baby is only a baby. (He’s a big guy at 19lbs already).

So after freaking out about my poor little baby having this rug burn I remembered the Monkey Balm. I quickly put it on there and wasn’t really expecting much so I didn’t think to take a picture. The next morning when I looked at it again, it was gone!

I was so impressed with the Monkey Balm that I decided to go ahead and try it on my own face. I suffer from some seriously dry skin here in Michigan because of the cold weather and as I’ve gotten older it’s gotten worse. Although it didn’t work as well as Nivea cream for me I am happy to report that I didn’t break out, didn’t get oily, and my skin was smoother. I think if used over time there’s a chance that it could really help my problem. Of course you have to also remember that this is formulated for kids first and foremost.
