Green Your Routine with the Post-it Brand (Giveaway) (Now Closed)

This Earth Day I’m happy to announce that one of everyone’s favorite brands, ,Post-it® from 3M have added several new sustainable items to their line-up. You will be introduced to them in just a moment. First I want to discuss little ways in which we can all make a change this Earth Day.

Post-It products have always been a staple here in my home and whatever office I may be working in. I mean who hasn’t left a post-it note in their lifetime? Just a few months ago when I decided to start cleaning up my home office I found post-it’s everywhere! Not thinking about it at the time I simply crumpled them up and threw them away! Ack. Looking back now I could have easily included them with my other papers that went through the shredder and out to recycling.

This Earth Day I’ve been trying to come up with little ways I can continue to change in order to be more green. I have decided right here and now that I am going to make a concerted effort to shred ALL my personal papers in order to recycle them. I have notes jotted down all over my house. In fact, paper is my number one problem. In past years I have decreased my paper waste by doing the following:

  • Signing up for online billing thus eliminating a monthly paper bill.
  • Recycling all junk mail and envelopes from any bills I receive through the mail.
  • Breaking down and recycling all food boxes, packaging, cardboard etc.
  • Shredding all old bills over 5 years old thus creating more room in my office and in turn leaving me less cluttered and more apt to put things in their place and recycle, instead of becoming frustrated and just tossing paper in the trash on garbage day.

It may seem like such a small step to add personal notes, scrap papers, and even post-its to my list of items to be shredded and it is. Small steps lead to bigger steps and bigger steps lead to consciously making better decisions to do our part each and every time you are capable of doing so, not just when you feel like it.  Now on to Post-it’s new sustainable products!
