Get Your Last Minute Holiday Gifts & Meal Items At Meijer

I’ve been shopping at Meijer my entire life. I was going to give you one simple reason but I realized I have an endless list of reasons I could come up with.

  • Most are open 24 hrs a day 364 days a year (Closed Christmas Day)
  • You can find almost anything you need there. From groceries to clothing, to toys.
  • Their produce is always top notch
  • They have a real meat department with real butchers, not just pre-cut.
  • The stores are well organized & clean
  • You can quickly check yourself out (with no limit in lines)
  • The best store for last minute holiday shopping in my opinion

That’s just a few reasons I love Meijer stores.  The biggest reason is that there have been many a time that I shopped Meijer late into the night on Christmas Eve looking for those last minute gifts or food items that I forgot to pick up! I’ve always been able to depend on them.

Here are a few suggestions for you based on my own experiences:

Cook Something Unexpected – Certified Angus Beef Rib Roast/Prime Rib

Delicious Meijer Angus Prime RibA couple of years ago while shopping late in the holiday season I discovered that they sold Prime Rib, also known as Rib Roast. I had always wanted to cook one but was too scared, thinking it was much too hard for a novice. I got one anyway and while I was there picked up an electronic thermometer & roasting pan. I don’t want to brag but it turned out to be the best prime rib I’ve ever had. My family absolutely loved it as well. It was something different than our usual ham or turkey.

Last year I made the mistake of ordering a much more expensive prime rib from an online store that’s well known for their meats and I was very disappointed. It just didn’t match the quality of the Meijer beef and it was more than twice as expensive. So I highly suggest if you have last minute guests coming, head up to Meijer and check out their prime ribs. They’re on sale right now for an amazing $6.99lb in my area. TRUST ME that’s a steal. I honestly have never seen it cheaper, anywhere. They are also certified angus beef, which is top notch.

Stocking Stuffers

Stocking Stuffers Stocking stuffers. Get it? lol. I discovered this year that my boys really love when I wear Holiday themed items. I’ll do silly little things like put on Christmas socks with snowmen on them or wear a special nighty. Right now I have on my Santa nighty and my 2 yr old told me the other day “I love your pajamas. I love Santa. I gonna give Santa a kiss.” How sweet is that? And my 4 yr old told me several times how much he loved my socks.  It’s fun and it makes the kids happy.

I grabbed a pair of socks from Meijer the other day on our trip there. At only $2.99 a pair these would make the perfect silly little stocking stuffer for mom or sis!

Don’t Forget The Drinks – Santa Needs His Milk

Eggnog anyone?

Mmm Eggnog. Whether you drink it plain or you spice it up a bit for the adults, who can resist it? It makes the holiday! If you haven’t tried it now’s your chance. Meijer has a big selection of various well known brands. You usually only find this stuff during the holiday season so don’t miss out.

Maybe it’s not Eggnog you’re after but milk instead. Remember Santa can’t eat his cookies you leave him out tonight without milk!
