This month’s giveaway from Pear Tree Greetings is a $30 gift card (in the form of a coupon code) for one lucky reader, but before you enter I want to tell you about something special that Pear Tree Greetings is doing for our soldiers overseas. Please take a moment to read about it!
Pear Tree Greetings Operation Gratitude
(Teachers – Please click banner to learn more & to sign up)
Pear Tree Greetings have a goal to send 75,000 cards to our men and women in the military so they’ve hooked up with Operation Gratitude. They are looking for 2500 teachers, whom they will send cards to free of charge (up to 30 per classroom), which after decorated, colored etc. will then be sent on to our lovely service men and women to help lift morale during the holiday season.
This is something that really touches my heart because my little brother (17 years younger!) joined the marines just this fall. He’s been away at boot camp and he’ll be coming home soon. Unfortunately he won’t be able to spend Thanksgiving or Christmas with us. This will be his first time away from home for the holidays and it’s going to be very hard for all of us. Although he’s not stationed far from home at the moment I know once he’s done with all his training it’s very likely he will be, seeing as he signed up to be an infantryman.
I’d also like to say that growing up with a Grandfather who served in WWII, and an uncle who served in Vietnam & later in Iraq with my cousin I have heard a lot of stories. Although I haven’t served myself I realize just how hard it can be for families and for the servicemen to be so far away from home, especially during the holidays.
Please take a moment to pass this information on to any teachers you may know & thank you to those I know that have already signed up!! http://gratitude.peartreegreetings.com/
For those that are not teachers, Pear Tree is also giving back this holiday season by partnering with the American Cancer Society. They have designed six exclusive Christmas cards and by purchasing one of those cards, 100% of the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
